Universal Remotes

Universal or all-in-one remotes can make using your system as easy as 1 2 3, but with so many on the market it is again a difficult process to choose one to suit your budget and requirements.

We have sifted through the many, many brands out there over the years and our preferred choice of remotes are RTI and Pro Control. These are specialist control system brands, and have a long history of providing a quality product at an affordable price.

While many remotes on the market only allow for the infra-red signal to be learnt and resent to the equipment with a basic macro control, it has been our experience that this can cause many operator issues for the end user. A macro is a series of commands programmed into the remote. (For example, turning on the power of several items by pushing one button is a macro.) With an Infra-red only remote, if the user turns slightly away while the macro is turning everything on some of the commands don't get to their intended location and thus not everything is turned on. This makes for a bit of a problem.

An RF or Radio Frequency based system does away with this issue entirely, and while being a bit more expensive, it provides a much more satisfying experience for the end user on a daily basis.
